Meetings
Indoor Meetings 2026-2027
These comprise a mixture of illustrated talks and members’ evenings, where members are encouraged to bring along items of natural history interest, brief presentations etc.
Winter talks start at 8pm and finish by 10pm. Unless otherwise stated, these will be held in the
upstairs committee room, Cobham Village Hall, Lushington Drive, Cobham. Non-members are
welcome to all meetings unless otherwise advertised (£3.00 charge, refundable if you join the
society). Refreshments (in-person winter meetings): 50p. (Please try to bring along correct
amount.
Meetings also include our Annual General Meeting in April, when the ENHS Committee is elected.
Wed 9 Sep - Stroll and dine: dinner at a local pub, 8pm, preceded by a short walk. Details TBC.
Wed 11 Nov - Talk by ENHS member Joan Bingley, topic TBC.
Wed 9 Dec - Members' evening. Bring along anything you would like to share with the group,
whether a brief slide presentation or just an item of natural history interest to talk about or display. Plus the opportunity to socialise over tea and mince pies.

Wed 12 Aug 10am - Cowey Sale/Broadwater Lake. Meet 10am Cowey Sale Car Park, Walton Lane, Walton-on-Thames. 2 hours, 3 km. With thanks to James Alexander for agreeing to co-lead. Woodland, grassland, riparian habitats.
Wed 26 Aug 10am - Esher Common. Meet 10am Horseshoe Clump Car Park, Opposite Blackhills, A307 Portsmouth Road, Esher. 2 hours 3km. Heathland, wetland habitats.
Tues 1st September - Esher Common Black Pond. - Moth trapping night - Details TBA
Wed 14 Oct 11.am - Fungus walk on Fairmile Common, led by Brian Spooner. Meet at 11am,Lakewood Car Park Portsmouth Road, KT11 1BG. 2 hours.
